Startup UCLA Summer Accelerator 2016 introduces: Centech
Centech is developing an alternative to a 60 year old technology in the oil & gas industry, measuring sediment and water in crude oil with glass tubes that reduces costs by 40%, hazardous waste by 70%, and makes the process safer and easier. The industry has been using the same process for the past 60 years and is ripe for improvement. Centech’s technology is more economical, environmentally friendly, and safer than the incumbent solutions. With major oil companies asking for product trials, Founder & CEO Omar Kunbargi is spending the summer with his team racing to deliver prototypes. He stated, “until we live in a world powered by alternative energy, we should do our best to make our current production of oil safer and cleaner for the environment.”
