HackUCI will be Orange County’s first major hackathon, and we are hosting it this Memorial day weekend (36 hours of hacking!) on campus at the Bren Events Center. We are expecting anywhere from 750-1000 hackers from all over California (and based on registrations, the country!).
Hackathons are essentially the new career fair – it’s the best place to find raw talent, and to see students and entrepreneurs actually build and ship products that they could NEVER do in a classroom setting. We’ll have seasoned hackathon vets as well as high school students all in attendance, proving that anyone can build the next big thing or even become a great engineer at start ups; all they need are the right set of tools, and lots of caffeine.
